Guangdong Science Center
The Guangdong Science Center is located at the western end of Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center in Panyu. It covers an area of 450,000 square meters and has a floor area of 140,700 square meters. It is a large-scale comprehensive science popularization venue in Guangdong Province, a national science popularization education base, and is certified by the Guinness World Records, being awarded the title of the world's "Science Museum/Science Center". The overall architectural shape is unique. When viewed from the side, it resembles a "science and technology aircraft carrier"; when viewed from above, it looks like the city flower of Guangzhou - the kapok; when viewed from the front, it is like a vivid "Eye of Scientific Discovery". Inside the museum, there are 13 permanent theme exhibition halls in total, such as "Children's World", "Experiment and Discovery", "Transportation World", "Digital Paradise", "Innovation Space", "Materials Garden", "Dream of Flying into Space", "Green Homeland", "Man and Health", "Perception and Thinking". There are more than 700 exhibits (sets) and several temporary special exhibition areas. It also has four science and technology cinemas (IMAX 3D Giant Screen Cinema, 4D Cinema, 3D Cinema and Virtual Flight Motion Cinema). Outdoors, there is an ecological lake covering an area of 80,000 square meters, more than 2,000 kinds of plants with Lingnan characteristics and dozens of outdoor exhibition items. It is a scientific exploration paradise that integrates nature, science and technology, and art, as well as culture, education and tourism. It is a popular science tourism destination deeply loved by tourists.
