The Guangdong Museum is located in the southern part of the central area of Zhujiang New Town, Tianhe District, Guangzhou. Its preparation started in 1957 and it officially opened in 1959. The foundation of the new building of the Guangdong Museum was laid in December 2004 and it was completed in 2010. With a total floor area of 67,000 square meters, it is a provincial comprehensive museum in Guangdong Province.
